The Historic District
La Fox was established in 1834 and is located on the Northwestern Railroad, bounded by Route 38, Keslinger, Harley and Brundige Roads. Many homes of historic significance, like the Potter House, the Neiler Farm and the Old Schoolhouse utilized Italionate, National and Folk Victorian styles, popular from 1850 to the 1880s. For details about many of the homes, you can look to “The History of LaFox Illinois” by Lois Divine.
